Review Sentinel

Adaptogen Capsules has been live 6 weeks. Give me the review themes so far, good and bad, and tell me if there is anything the PDP should change.

Clustering now — 180 reviews isn't huge, but it's enough to surface dominant themes. Pulling quotes for top-of-star and bottom-of-star so you see both ends.

180 reviews in, avg 4.5★. 168 are 4★ or above — the launch is working. But there are 3 themes worth acting on, and one 2★ review that needs a response within SLA.

Theme 1 — "Felt it after about 2 weeks" (47% of 5★ reviews). This is the strongest positive signal, and it's also a gap in the PDP — we don't set the 2-week expectation anywhere on the page. Subscribers who start looking for an effect on day 3 and don't feel it are churning — 3 of the 12 sub-4★ reviews are literally "didn't feel anything after a week, cancelling."

"Took about 15 days before I noticed I wasn't hitting the 3pm wall anymore. Didn't expect that kind of slow build but I'm sold." — Marisol G., 5★, verified buyer

Theme 2 — Capsule size (22% of all reviews, mostly neutral). The capsules are big. People notice. The reviews aren't hostile, but it's the single most-mentioned physical attribute.

"Capsules are on the larger side — not a deal breaker but I'd take them with a bigger glass of water than I do my other supplements." — Dev P., 4★, verified buyer

Theme 3 — Taste/smell when opening the bottle (14% of reviews). Some customers describe an "earthy" or "mushroom-forward" smell when first opening. 4 of the 5 critical reviews (3★ or below) mention this first.

"Smelled strongly of mushroom when I first opened it and I almost returned it. Read the ingredients, realized that's literally what's inside, and got over it. But a heads-up on the listing would have been nice." — Taylor R., 3★, verified buyer

Recommended PDP changes:

  1. Add a "What to expect" module above the ingredients — set the 14-day timeline expectation. Copy draft: "Most Verdant customers notice a shift around the 2-week mark. Adaptogens build up over time; we don't over-promise day-one."
  2. Add capsule size to the product specs — current spec lists serving size but not capsule dimensions. Spec draft: "Size 00 vegetable capsule · approx. 23mm. Take with 8oz water."
  3. Acknowledge the scent in the "What's inside" copy, not bury it — proactively setting the expectation converts better than handling it in Gorgias tickets.

One critical review needs a response: VRD-STMP-9124 (2★, Brooke M., 2026-04-17) — "Made me nauseous on an empty stomach, product description doesn't say to take with food." I've drafted a reply acknowledging + noting we've added the "take with food" guidance and offering a replacement SKU (the Adaptogen Complex liquid). Ready for Amira to approve + send.
