A small firm, built on purpose.
Maxed Out is a senior-only boutique. Four engagements a quarter, run by people who have already shipped the thing you're trying to ship. No pyramid staffing. No offshore bench. No retainer math.
Why we exist.
We started Maxed Out in 2021 because the consulting industry had, collectively, stopped being honest with its clients. Every SOW was padded, every pitch deck had the partners on the cover and the juniors in the trenches, and every engagement quietly ballooned until the real scope was lost in the margin notes.
We are the senior engineers who kept getting pulled in to clean up after those agencies. We rewrote the rewrites. We stabilized the migrations. We untangled the microservices that should never have been microservices. And at some point it became clear: the work was never hard. The staffing was.
So we built the firm we wanted to hire. Small. Senior. Specific. We cap ourselves at four engagements a quarter because that is honestly the most we can do at the quality we promise. If that sounds precious, it probably is. It is also the only way the math works.
We are not trying to be the biggest consultancy. We are trying to be the one you recommend to the CEO you respect. So far, that is working.
Four rules. We don't break them.
Senior only
We never staff a junior on your project. Full stop. Every person on the engagement has shipped the work before — usually more than once.
Outcomes over hours
Fixed scope, fixed timeline, fixed price. We eat our own scope creep. You pay for the result, not the ritual of billable time.
Knowledge transfer
We leave your team stronger than we found them. Your codebase is yours on day one and still yours on day three hundred.
Fewer, better clients
We take on four engagements a quarter. That's it. When we say yes to you we've already said no to someone else.
"We'd rather say no to ten projects than ship one we're embarrassed by."
